CAREKeeping
Keeping
them fresh
Air, warmth and light, in that order.
The can handles all three until you open it.

Four places a can can go
- Before opening
Anywhere cool and dark. Unopened, a can holds for twelve months from the date on the base. No refrigeration.
- After opening
Reseal the lid and keep it in a cupboard, not on a counter in the sun. Two to three weeks at its best.
- To keep longer
The freezer, in the can, sealed. Three months with no real loss. Let it come to room temperature before opening, so condensation forms on the outside rather than the kernels.
- Not the fridge
Humid and full of other smells. Nuts take on both. It is the one storage choice that makes them worse.

If a can smells sharp on opening, it has been warm for too long somewhere in the chain. We would rather replace it than have you eat it. Tell us the number on the base.
